"The church's ministry of healing is usually directed towards the needs of individuals. Dr. Peter Wellock knows the value of this, but he rightly insists that 'no one can be fully healthy in a sick society.' Human wholeness is linked to community well-being and community well-being cannot be found without a healthy environment. Health is a justice issue; it is a peace issue; it is an issue of the integrity of creation and it is most certainly a spiritual issue. This book helps us to participate in the fuller dimensions of Christ's ministry. It is very timely and I warmly commend it." - The Rt. Rev. John Wilson, Vicar General, Bishop of the Southern Region of the Diocese of Melbourne

Peter Wellock is an Anglican priest in Mornington, Victoria. After service in Mildura, he spent nine years in Fiji, mainly in pastoral, educational, and publishing ministries. In 1973, he became the Executive Director of the Churches' Commission on Education in Western Australia, later serving as a Curriculum Officer with the State Education Department. In 1972, he moved to Trinity College at the University of Melbourne, serving as Chaplain and Dean, as well as lecturing at the United Faculty of Theology. He moved to Hobart in 1988 as Warden of Christ College at the University of Tasmania. In 1991, he became vicar of St. Matthew's Cheltenham and Co-coordinator of the Field Education Program of the Diocese of Melbourne. He is currently serving as an honorary priest at St. Peter's Mornington and the Senior Chaplain in Victoria for the Order of St. Luke the Physician in Australia.
